The Sixties in Croatia: Development of Contemporary Dance Scene between Imperial Taste and Controversial Experiment
Maja Đurinović, creator of the part of the Zagreb Museum of Arts and Crafts exhibition The Sixties in Croatia – Myth and Reality dedicated to dance
A part of the exhibition about the ‘60s opened on 26th April at the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Zagreb is dedicated to dance. The creator of that part of the exhibition is dancer and dance historian Maja Đurinović. This lecture will deal not only with the exhibition and the period it covers but also with the history of dance in Croatia and the attitude towards that art form.
Maja Đurinović is a dance historian and associate professor at the Academy of Arts in Osijek, where she teaches the Stage Movement course, as well as editor of online magazine Plesnascena.hr, member of the editorial board of the magazine Movements dedicated to dance art, and external associate at the Dance Department of the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb.
